Pluralsight LIVE

Pluralsight LIVE
2017-2019

Over the past four years, I have had the privilege to have a creative impact on every Pluralsight LIVE conference to date. Each year, the creative team spends months discussing concepts, pitching ideas, and executing designs. A lot of craft and late nights go into making this event the incredible experience it is now known for. Below is a selection of a few of my contributions which include installation animations, main stage graphics and a social media video to promote the WEEZER concert.

2018 – ANIMATED INSTALLATION AND TEASER

LIVE 2018 was centered around the idea of being able to look through a lens and see your potential. I worked alongside John Jensen and Shawn LeBoutillier to create animations that used our conference mark as their looking glass towards their future. As humans, we are creative by nature. The imagery, abstract and literal, is used to represent that creativity.

In addition to the LIVE teaser video, we also integrated that same concept into a giant LIVE installation that greeted you as you entered the conference. Below is a photo of me standing next to the installation, with the animated version next to it.

2019 – MAIN STAGE AUTHOR KEYNOTE

Though I have done multiple main stage animations for LIVE, this is probably my favorite. 2019 was the first year we used LED screens on the ceilings, making the room feel fully immersed in the design and color. This particular keynote speaker was highlighting Pluralsight’s authors, who have made the company what it is today. I wanted the stage to feel slightly overwhelming with the amount of faces. Showing how much work and care goes into each of the courses that are created and that all of that effort has faces and a names.

2019 – WEEZER ORGANIC SOCIAL VIDEO

All of my high school fangirl dreams came true at LIVE 2019 when Weezer performed. The promotional video below is part of a series, but this one is by far my favorite. The concept was to give little clues here and there to draw the viewer in, wondering who it could be. As the video progresses the band image becomes less and less pixelated until the end where the answer is finally revealed. I worked alongside Alex Nygaard, who wrote the copy, to help this fun little video come to fruition.

2020 – HYPE VIDEO

2020, of course, threw us for a curve-ball and we had to make a quick switch from an in-person user conference to a completely virtual experience. This gave our annual hype video a few new challenges since our team was unable to meet in person to film anything. So instead, we chose to divvy up the work between our in-house motion designers as well as collaborating with Digital Gravy. This inspired us to create something completely new and unique from anything we had done before. I’m thankful I was able to contribute the “Work Meets Play” animation into this awesome compilation.

2020 – STATIC MAINSTAGE GRAPHICS

During our virtual event, there would be down time between speakers that needed to be filled. Our team decided to create static graphics that would fill the viewer’s screen during the breaks to help inform and entertain them.
